Vanpools. Small groups making a big difference. Save cash. Win prizes.
Share the ride, get individual rewards.
A vanpool is a group of 7-15 people who ride to and from work together. Vanpoolers save money on gas and car expenses and keep dangerous pollutants out of our air. And vanpools can travel in the uncongested HOV lane, so everyone can kick back and relax (unless you're the driver)! Vendors in the region provide the vehicle, insurance and the maintenance.
- Vanpooling can earn eligible commuters $3 a day, up to $100, just for switching from driving alone to vanpooling.
- Vanpooling can help you win $25 gift cards.
- You can also take advantage of the Vanpool Incentive Program and tax benefits for vanpooling.
The Clean Air Campaign and Georgia Commute Options (formerly through a service known as RideSmart) offer a free service to help you find potential carpool or vanpool partners to share the ride. Get a list of people who live and work around you by registering online.
Georgia Commute Options also offers the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program in metro Atlanta. Register today, and you may qualify for up to five (5) trips home or to your car from work each year if an unexpected event occurs.
The Clean Air Campaign and other organizations exist to help you get a vanpool together and to keep it running smoothly. They may even have additional financial incentives to make it even more worthwhile. Find out who to contact based on where you work.
The Clean Air Campaign and several partner organizations provide a number of incentives to save you money by offsetting the costs of starting and operating a vanpool. There's also a new rider referral program.
You and your employer are eligible for tax benefits. Find out more here.
