Traffic and air quality issues exist in areas outside metro Atlanta. That’s why The Clean Air Campaign is now working with areas across Georgia, including Athens-Clarke County, to provide resources that can help us open up our roadways and clear up our skies.
Presently, air quality in Clarke county is considered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to meet federal standards. But the Classic City and surrounding area is at risk in the near future of falling out of compliance for acceptable levels of air pollution, due in part to increasing commuter traffic.
