Athens-Clarke County
Helping Athens-Clarke County breathe easier.
Traffic and air quality issues exist in areas outside metro Atlanta. That’s why The Clean Air Campaign is now working with areas across Georgia, including Athens-Clarke County, to provide resources that can help us open up our roadways and clear up our skies.
New Pollution Standards Put More Georgia Cities at Risk for Bad Air

But the Classic City and surrounding area is at risk in the near future of falling out of compliance for acceptable levels of air pollution, due in part to increasing commuter traffic.
