Thanks for a Great 2010

Thanks to you, 2010 has proven to be a successful year.

Some of the best work being done anywhere to improve air quality and reduce traffic congestion is happening right here in Georgia. And because every mile counts in the quest for cleaner air and less traffic, commute options have become even more essential for employers, commuters and schools across the state.

Here are a few of the achievements you helped make possible in 2010:

  • Your efforts helped eliminate 1.4 million vehicle miles of travel from Georgia roads every day. That’s the equivalent of 56 trips around the Earth! At the same time, your efforts helped keep 700 tons of pollution out of the air we breathe each day – that’s the equivalent weight of 17 dump trucks.
  • More than 1,600 employers and property managers are Partners of either The Clean Air Campaign or one of the Atlanta region’s transportation management associations.
  • The Clean Air Schools program expanded to more areas in Georgia, with more than 300 schools in 33 different district.
  • During smog season, metro Atlanta experienced 25 days when ground-level ozone reached unhealthy levels, continuing a long-term trend of declining smog days year-over-year since 2005.
  • By helping businesses start and expand telework programs, The Clean Air Campaign has worked with more than 250 employers and impacted more than 12,000 teleworkers in Georgia since 2005.
  • A special initiative to curb unnecessary diesel engine idling welcomed 40 additional participating organizations across Georgia, ranging from industrial fleets to city government facilities.

Thank you for becoming a part of The Clean Air Campaign and helping make a difference in Georgia.
